| Ok I've got good news and bad news.... so I'll give you the bad news first.
Max, my 13 year old beagle mix that I've grown up with, is very very sick. I mean it's bad. He has heart failure and it has gotten even worse. His heart isn't able to pump enough blood throughout his body so his organs are shutting down. Tuesday I had to rush him to the vet all by myself b/c his stomach was all swollen and he didn't eat any dinner the night before. Turns out his kidneys aren't working so his stomach was swollen from all of the fluids he couldn't get rid of. So they basically told me that we could put him on a stronger heart medicine and that would buy us a few more weeks and he'd still be miserable or just make him comfortable for the time being and let him die a painless death. Ok so yeah can we say... hardest decision of my life! I mean hello...this is my childhood pet! The sweetest and smartest and most protective dog I've ever met in my life and it is up to me to put him to sleep or not! So needless to say I lost it in the vet's office. I had to step outside and call my mom and just cried and cried. So we decided to bring him home for the rest of the week and figure out what to do. So before I left the vet he gave Max a shot that would help him pee to get rid of the fluids and make him more comfortable and hopefully be able to eat. And Saturday is the day... 8:30 in the morning! No more Mr.Max Daniel Gant. So today I am taking a picture of him with his little sister Katy and little brother Chopper. The 3 dogs all together for one last photo. I'm crying right now just thinking about it! Oh this is just so hard! Ok... moving on
So on to more positive news. Tuesday morning (before everything happened with Max) I had an interview at Vanderbilt Hospital for a position in the gift shop. Well I went in thinking it was part-time, I'd work 10 hours a week, and get paid 8 bucks an hour. Boy was I wrong! It's a full-time position which means I get 30-40 hours a week guaranteed, 8 bucks an hour when I first start off but that'll go up quickly, I get full benefits, paid vacations and sick days, a discount at the pharmacy there where I can get all of my perscriptions for 10 bucks, paid tuition up to $77,000 when I start back to school, and the prestige of being able to say that I work at Vanderbilt. People try for years to get a job at Vandy and I did just like that! My resume most of rocked! LOL! I spent forever on it! And it'll really rock now that I can put on there that I work at Vanderbilt. So that's awesome news! I am still going to keep my part-time job at Bath & Body Works for now. But when I start school in the fall I'll just have school and vandy job. So obviously things are looking up for me! I am so excited.
Well that's the good news and bad news. All of this happened in one day, Tuesday! Woke up, had fight with mom, went to interview, took Max to vet, made hard decision, found out I got job, had to tell my little brother and dad about Max, had to go to work.... Yeah can we say one hell of an emotional rollercoaster! This week has been insane! Yesterday Joe came over and helped me cut out the life size version of an old 50s car that I have to paint today for Mary Emily's 13th bday party that's tomorrow night. Way to wait until the last minute! Then I had to pick up Mary Emily, her little sister Kirsten, and their neighbor Jake. So I had a 13 year old, 7 year old, and 6 year old. We had to go to Lowe's and Hobby Lobby to let Mary Emily pick out paint for the car. Then I kept the girls for a few hours until their parents got home and then I had to keep Jake at his house all night and take him to school bright and early this morning. His parents are divorced and his mom is in Destin with her boyfriend working on her condo b/c it was damaged from the hurricane and his dad got drunk last night at a basketball game and so I was his mother! Sometimes I think that they act like Jake is an inconvience to their lives and I'm a way around that. He's such a sweet little boy and so smart! He's had to mature a lot b/c of his parents splitting so he's like a little adult. So I am house sitting for his mom yesterday thru monday! I only have to keep Jake again on Saturday morning while his dad plays golf so I have the place to myself! And it's a really nice and huge house! Just me and Silvester the cat that I'm allergic to! Lol! Well I need to go work on this car. Wish me luck! Oh and just to let everyone know... Beauty School Dropouts are playing tonight at Exit/In at 8pm. $7 bucks to get in. Everyone needs to come out! It's gonna be an amazing show! Lates~B |
